We have a customer that very sporadically ends up with the database not responding for a window of 30 seconds or so. This is SA 12.0.1 build 4085 running on VMWare. The OS is Windows 2008 R2 with 12 GB of memory and the CPU is presented is a single quad core CPU.
When this happens, it looks like all of our processes block for this window of time as though the database it too busy to respond. I could understand some processes blocking as the database services other requests from other processes but it looks like everything just comes to a stop.
The customer has looked through VM logs and they do not see anything that jumps out for around the time the problem occurred.
Could this be something that may have been addressed in a later EBF?
