Hi Gabriel,
You are correct, the Adaptive Server Anywhere component was renamed SQL Anywhere in version 10.
The SQL Anywhere product was previously referred to as:
Version 3,4: Watcom SQL
Version 5.x.x: SQL Anywhere
Version 6,7,8,9: Adaptive Server Anywhere
Version 10,11,12,16,17: SQL Anywhere
The database file format was changed in version 10, so the last version to fully support databases created with version 8 was ASA 9. Version 10 through 17 contain support for "unloading" old databases like those created with version 8. Unloading the database would give you access to the table structure and data in SQL and CSV files.
